An annual solstice ritual · Kitsilano Waterfront
Welcoming the
Season of Light
An outdoor morning of ritual, movement & sacred sound — gathered beside the Pacific.
Early registration $88 · limited places · no experience necessary
There are moments in the year that ask us to pause and remember our place within the larger cycles of life. The Summer Solstice is one of them.
As the days reach their fullest length and the sun stands at its highest, we are offered an opportunity to consciously welcome a new season.
Space to listen. Space to breathe.
Space to honour what is ready to flourish.
Surrounded by ocean, sky, mountain, and one another, we step out of the pace of ordinary life and into a slower rhythm — one set by nature itself.
How the morning unfolds
An arc of light
A single, unhurried movement from arrival to blessing — each part flowing into the next as the sun climbs over the water.
Opening grounding ritual
We gather at the water's edge, arrive in our bodies, and are welcomed into the circle and into the day.
Gentle yoga practice
Mara guides accessible, embodied movement to open the body to the morning. All levels — and complete beginners — are held.
Solstice reflection & intention
A guided moment to name what has been growing within you, and what you wish to carry into the brightest months of the year.
Guided meditation
We settle into stillness beneath the open sky, letting the senses widen to the place that holds us.
Crystal singing bowl sound journey
Henrietta's alchemy crystal singing bowls carry the circle on waves of resonance — sound moving across the body and out over the ocean.
Community connection
A gentle return to shared presence with others who came to mark the turning of the season.
Closing seasonal blessing
We step into summer together — carried by intention, sound, and the company of community.

Held by two guides
Your hosts
An annual gathering we return to, year after year — a tradition built from movement and sound, ceremony and care.
Mara Branscombe
Mara is a Vancouver-based yoga teacher, ceremonialist, and writer who weaves embodied movement, ritual, and the rhythms of nature into practices for transition and renewal. She is the author of Sage Huntress Lover Queen and Ritual as Remedy, and co-creator of The Divine Matrix Oracle.
Her teaching meets people exactly where they are — making this morning as welcoming for the first-timer as for the lifelong practitioner.
Henrietta Devine
Henrietta is a frequency architect and the founder of Sound Space Portal, Vancouver's studio for sound and resonance. Through alchemy crystal singing bowls and ceremonial sound journeys, she creates immersive experiences rooted in ancestral wisdom and celestial fields.
Her sound work guides the body below thought — into the quiet, spacious place where a season can truly be received.

Before you arrive
Questions, answered
I've never done yoga or sound work — is this for me?
Completely. The morning is designed to welcome first-timers as warmly as seasoned practitioners. Nothing is required of you but to arrive and be present. Mara's movement is gentle and accessible, and the sound journey asks only that you rest and receive.
What if it rains?
We gather rain or shine, dressed for the morning. If the forecast calls for heavy rain, all registered guests receive an email by the evening before outlining our weather plan. Your registration is always honoured.
Where exactly do we meet?
We gather on the north side of the Maritime Building, along the Kitsilano waterfront. A simple map is included in your confirmation. Please aim to arrive by 8:50 AM so the circle can begin together at 9:00.
Can I bring a friend or partner?
Yes, and many do. Please register each guest individually so we can hold a place for everyone. This morning makes a beautiful shared experience or seasonal gift.
What should I wear and bring?
Dress in comfortable layers you can move in and stay warm in beside the water. Bring a yoga mat, water bottle, a blanket to sit or lie on, and a journal if you like to reflect in writing.
What is your cancellation policy?
[Confirm your policy — e.g. "Registration is transferable to a friend at any time, and refundable up to 7 days before the gathering."] If you have any accessibility or mobility needs, write to us and we'll make sure you're cared for.
